General Manager – Luxury 5* Resort (South Bali)

A luxury seafront Resort destination is looking for a General Manager to join their team immediately. 

The ideal candidate as General Manager must have an entrepreneurial, can-do attitude. 

You will be responsible for all aspects of operations at the Resort, to day-to-day staff management and guests. He / She should be an ambassador for the brand and Resort, provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of the company’s service culture, maximise operations and guest satisfaction. 

You will work very closely with the Resort Owners and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing the Resort’s management team (HOD’s) and overall property targets to deliver an excellent guest experience. 

The General Manager is required to manage between profitability and guest satisfaction measures. This role reports directly to the CEO and BOD.

Requirements :

  • Open for expat candidates.
  • Minimum five or more years of experience in an equivalent position in a Resort or 5-star hotel environment or high end luxury hotel experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Hospitality and Tourism a plus but not essential.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent on forecasting and budgeting.
  • Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems; technology-savvy.
  • Strategic planning skills; ability to translate financial concepts into actionable business strategies and tactics.
  • Ability to identify and seize new business opportunities to drive the growth of the Resort.
  • Proactive in anticipating market trends and adapting business strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to develop and launch new services or amenities that align with the Resort’s brand and guest expectations.
  • Ability to evaluate business trends, determine applicability to customer profile, and modify business strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to creatively execute strategies and drive results.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee the operations functions of the Resort, as per the organisational chart.
  • Hold regular briefings and meetings with all HOD’s.
  • Ensure full compliance to resort operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Lead all key property issues including capital projects, customer service and refurbishment.
  • Handling complaints, and overseeing the service recovery procedures.
  • Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the Resort’s annual operating budget, marketing & sales plan and capital budget.
  • Manage on-going profitability of the Resort, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the Resort and management.
  • Deliver budget goals and set other short and long term strategic goals for the property.
  • Developing improvement actions, carrying out cost savings.
  • A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies.
  • Closely monitor the Resort’s business reports on a daily basis and take decisions accordingly.
  • Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, on target and accurate.
  • Maximising room yield and Resort revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
  • Prepare a monthly report for the owners and stakeholders.
  • Draw up plans and budget (revenues, costs, etc.) for the owners.
  • Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment, and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services.
  • Act as a final decision maker in hiring key staff.
  • Coordination with HOD’s for the execution of all activities and functions.
  • Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads on a daily basis.
  • Manage and develop the Resort’s Executive team to ensure career progression and development.
  • Be accountable for responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.
  • Provide effective leadership to Resort team members.
  • Lead in all aspects of business planning.
  • Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
  • Corporate client handling and take part in new client acquisition along with the sales team whenever required.
  • Assisting in residential sales as and when required and development with strong sales prospects.
  • Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations both (internal & external audits).
  • Responsible for legalisation, Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal requirements.
