Store Merchandiser – Active Wear Brand (Badung)

One of Bali’s eco-conscious active wear brands is looking for a Store Merchandiser to join their team immediately. 

The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for visual aesthetics and a strong understanding of consumer behavior. They should possess extensive experience in retail merchandising, with a proven track record of driving sales through effective product presentation and strategic placement. The candidate should demonstrate creativity and innovation in curating store displays and layouts to attract customers and enhance the overall shopping experience. 

Requirements 

  • ⁠Open for local candidates.
  • Fluency in Indonesian and proficiency in English.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Store Merchandiser, preferably with experience in Bali’s retail market.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa.
  • Highly organised, with excellent communication skills, passionate about fashion, possessing strong problem-solving abilities, able to work under pressure, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency in merchandising software and inventory management systems.
  • Familiarity with retail management systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Experience with Shopify systems is a plus.
  • Ability to analyse sales trends and customer preferences to make informed merchandising decisions.
  • Strong visual merchandising skills to create appealing product displays.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management and markdown strategies.
  • Experience in conducting competitor analysis and market research to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Excellent negotiation skills for dealing with suppliers and vendors.
  • Understanding of retail math and financial metrics related to merchandising.

Responsibilities: 

  • Store Analysis & Improvement:
  • Conduct comprehensive studies of each store to understand current layouts, product placements, and customer flow.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance store layouts and optimise product placement to maximise sales and improve customer experience.
  • Customer Experience Enhancement:
  • Collaborate with the Store Promotion Girls (SPG) to ensure a cohesive and engaging customer experience.
  • Innovate and execute merchandising strategies that captivate and retain customers.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work hand-in-hand with the SPG girls and other team members to maintain a high standard of store presentation and customer service.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Sales Analysis & Reporting:
  • Regularly review sales data and generate detailed reports on store performance.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on sales trends and customer feedback.
  • Marketing Collaboration:
  • Work with the marketing team to communicate campaigns through our stores.
  • Ensure that store displays and product placements align with marketing campaigns and promotions.
  • Product Placement and Organisation:
  • Ensure products are correctly placed and organised according to brand guidelines.
  • Rotate products to maximise exposure and sales potential.
  • Manage product markdowns and clearance items effectively.
  • Trend Analysis:
  • Stay updated on the latest fashion trends and industry developments.
  • Apply knowledge of trends to improve store merchandising and product offerings.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Store Layout and Design:
  • Plan and execute seasonal store layouts and floor plans.
  • Ensure store layout maximises space and enhances customer flow.
  • Oversee the installation of fixtures and fittings as needed.
  • Promotional and Seasonal Merchandising:
  • Plan and execute promotional and seasonal merchandising activities.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to support promotional events.
  • Evaluate the success of promotional activities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Training and Development:
  • Train and mentor new and existing store staff on merchandising standards.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to improve staff knowledge and performance.
  • Provide ongoing support and feedback to the store team.
