Are you a highly- driven individual with extensive experience in the Travel & Tourism industry? One of Asia’s leading Destination Management companies is looking for a Product Manager (Travel) to join their team immediately. 

The ideal candidate is responsible for creating and maintaining a high-quality, creative and unique portfolio of products and services for the Leisure segment (with some overlap in Cruise and MICE segments) including hotels & resorts, sightseeing tours & excursions, attractions, multi-day packages and transfers.

Requirements: 

  • Expat candidate preferred 
  • Min. eight years experience in the tourism industry in a product, sales, reservations, marketing, and operation capacity. Preference for a minimum of two of the listed functions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in tourism, business administration or related field.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing a travel product portfolio with a strong commercial and customer focus.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing product development, with a strong purchasing background.
  • In-depth knowledge of the functioning of operating units within a DMC.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Self-motivated, highly organised, proactive, and flexible.
  • Systematic and logical approach to solving problems, with ability to incorporate creativity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A good working knowledge of the travel industry, including competitor activity.
  • Strong work ethic with a real commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensure alignment with the company’s “Product Development Process”, localising to meet client demand and business priorities to ensure sustained growth, repeat customers, and profitability.
  • Drive product innovation and creativity to explore opportunities for growth in the Leisure segment and understand synergies with Cruise and MICE segments.
  • Oversee purchasing and supplier management for accommodation (direct and via CGS) and land services, including pricing, portfolio, quality control and health & safety compliance audits.
  • Participate in the internal “Pricing & Purchasing Committee” to recommend & determine annual changes in selling prices.
  • Lead Product training, including hosting product training sessions and presentation of tariffs, itineraries and special offers to internal stakeholders and external clients. 
  • Integrate sustainability throughout the company’s product offer, supply chain and support sustainability initiatives implemented across the Group. 
  • Oversee the content of product portfolio to ensure that product descriptions, collateral and imagery follow branding guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new experiences and destinations that match client demand by working closely with the Sales team, reviewing trends and competitor activity and researching and visiting hotels, sites & attractions.
  • Conduct annual hotel bed brief and ongoing product portfolio review to refine, refresh and remove underperforming hotels and products. 
  • Manage supplier cost negotiation and contracting, including preparation of costing and loading facilitation in booking system (Travel Studio), through working collaboratively with suppliers and the wider DA business. 
  • Produce and communicate annual client tariffs, new products and special offers in a timely manner and conduct client trainings and workshops as necessary.
  • Support timely and high-quality delivery of ad-hoc GIT quotations and proposals to clients as well as assisting with FAM trip itinerary planning and VIP bookings.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the Reservations and Operations teams, monitoring customer feedback, product routing and improving product knowledge through product training sessions. 
  • Conduct regular supplier audits and spot checks to monitor quality control and ensure compliance of health & safety standards and legal requirements.
  • Provide monthly input to newsletters and other Marcomms requirements.
  • Manage, lead and motivate the product team through effective communication. 
  • Champion strong collaboration between Product, Sales and Operations. 
  • Ensure workflow management and annual planning so the team members have clear direction and skills to enable them to perform their duties.
